Sim King Producer Photographer Creative Architect

Creativity is not something Sim King learned—it is something he inherited. Born into a musical lineage that traces directly to Nat King Cole through his grandmother, artistry has always been the family trade. Sim King began as a drumming prodigy at age three, winning local talent shows and stacking trophies before most kids could tie their shoes. Those early victories earned him the nickname “Drummer Boy”, a name that followed him until he crowned himself with the identity the world now knows: Sim King, honoring the King family bloodline on his mother’s side.

By age twelve, he picked up a camera his father passed down to him, and a second lifelong craft was born. What began as youthful curiosity evolved into a powerful visual career. As a photographer, Sim King has captured iconic figures such as Snoop Dogg, Shane Mosley, Violet Brown (Strange Music), and leading music managers. His portfolio spans One West Magazine, high-profile fashion shows, concerts, red carpets, MMA fights, weddings, African weddings, baby showers, modeling headshots, portraits, events, and cinematic landscape and wildlife photography. He has also partnered with the City of Long Beach, covered major Kwanzaa events, and worked with a wide range of public and private organizations.

As a videographer and editor, Sim King’s impact stretches even deeper. He produced long-form digital content, interviews, and show intros for actress/dancer/producer Jossie Thacker, mastering the art of storytelling through motion. His camera also put him in front of hip-hop royalty—conducting interviews and producing media for legends including Kid ’N Play, Kid Capri, and premier dance icons such as the Jabbawockeez.

These experiences opened the door to one of the most influential creative environments of the modern era: Underdog Studios, home of the award-winning Underdog Entertainment, led by producer Harvey Mason Jr. Inside these walls, Sim King sharpened his craft while creating music under Strange Motel Music, signed by Steven Russell Harts—Grammy-winning songwriter, producer, and the unmistakable voice behind hits like the B2K classic “Gots Ta Be.”

His music production catalogue continued to expand, earning worldwide attention. Sim King produced all the music for the globally recognized rap educators behind MusicNotesOnline.com (Lamar Queen & David Landix), whose work has been covered internationally. He has delivered cinematic remixes, theme music for famed drummer RickyRocks, and achieved television placements along with numerous custom compositions across genres.

Today, Sim King stands as a multi-disciplinary creator—a producer, photographer, videographer, editor, designer, and digital innovator. Under Sim King LLC, he continues to evolve, building interactive online experiences, quizzes, games, VFX-driven visuals, and full entertainment ecosystems that merge music, storytelling, and technology.
